Based on the frequent line breaks and extreme inconvenience to residents, especially those of us at home all day, and this area in particular based on announced advisories has seemed to have by far the most problems in the 15 years I've lived here, I was very disappointed our lines weren't among the first repaired based on the area's needing it most. But now that the richer part of our town was first taken care of, how long before the rest of us can expect our water lines to be replaced?

Not knowing the water was off and the necessity of nature even if I had, my toilet blew out through the top and flooded my bathroom. I cleaned it up the best I could, but who is responsible for fixing any water damage if this becomes necessary? I know from experience that insurance does not cover water damage.

Thank you for your comment. West Columbia sets the priority for the replacements and we are in contact with them to get this line replaced as well. If the water shut off caused problems, I would contact West Columbia at 791-1880. We will continue to work with West Columbia to get all waterlines repaired as quickly as possible. If I can help in any way, please feel free to contact me at Town Hall.

Thank you.
