Town of Springdale General Election


Notice is hereby given that a General Election for the Town of Springdale shall be held November 7, 2017 for the purpose of electing one (1) Mayor and Three (3) council members.

In order to qualify as a candidate for office and have his or her name placed on the ballot, one must be a resident of the Town of Springdale, and be a qualified elector.

Books will be open for filing at noon August 11, 2017 and remain open during regular business hours. Completed forms must be filed with the Lexington Voter Registration and Elections office located at 605 West Main st, Lexington no later than 12:00 noon August 25, 2017, included forms are, Statement of Intention of Candidacy, and filing fee.

Statement of Economic Interest and Campaign disclosure forms must be filed according to the Ethics commission filing time.

The filing fee for the office of mayor is $55.00, and the filing fee for the office of council is $45.00.

This is a nonpartisan election and no party affiliation shall be placed on the ballot.

People desiring to vote in the upcoming election must be registered by October 7, 2017. To register, update, or obtain information on absentee ballots, please contact the Lexington County Board of Voter Registration at (803) 785-8361.

Polls shall open at Platt Springs United Methodist Church, 3215 Platt Springs Rd, on Election Day at 7:00 a.m. and remain open with no intermission or adjournment until 7:00 p.m.

At 9am on the Election Day the examination of the absentee ballot return envelopes at 605 West Main St, Suite 105.

On Thursday, November 9, 2017, at 9 am, the Lexington County Board of Commissioners will hold a hearing to determine the validity of ballots challenged in this election. The hearing will be located at 605 West Main St, suite 105, Lexington.
